Corfu

Best for: Trying authentic Greek food for the first time in a sit-down setting.

There’s no doubt that Corfu is one of the best Greek restaurants in Dublin. The well-established restaurant marries authentic Greek cuisine with warm hospitality in simple, bright surroundings. Located on picturesque Parliament Street in the city centre, Corfu charms from the moment you walk in.

The restaurant offers a comprehensive menu of Greek starters, mains, and desserts, as well as the option to buy a selection of mezedes (small plates similar to a Greek version of tapas). The menu includes starter such as keftedes (Greek meatballs), tzatziki and hummus dips, traditional stuffed Greek mushrooms.

The mains include the famous moussaka, pastitsio (Greek lasagna), and kleftiko (Greek lamb). A wide selection of grilled meats (souvlaki) are also available, including pork, chicken, lamb chops, and steak.

Dessert lovers are also in for a treat, with the ever present baklava on the list, as well as some other, less well-known Greek desserts such as revani (Greek semolina cake).

Another excellent Greek restaurant in Dublin is Mykonos Taverna. Situated in the heart of Dublin on Dame Street, the restaurant shines in the traditional white and blue colours of Greece. Mykonos Taverna serve up quality Greek food in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

The restaurant offers an a la carte menu, a set menu, and a lunch menu. The comprehensive menus cover a wide range of Greek favourites, including stifado, a warming Greek stew with beef, grilled halloumi, and of course moussaka and tzatziki.

However, make sure to sample one of the restaurant’s delicious gyros, made up with slices of perfectly marinated and cooked chicken or pork in a pita with chips, tomato, onion, and tzatziki.

Thick Greek yoghurt, baklava, and indulgent home made ice cream feature on the dessert menu.

Yeeros

Best for: Filling and delicious souvlaki and gyros at a great price.

For mouth-wateringly good souvlaki in Dublin, look no further than Yeeros. While gyros contain thinly-sliced pieces of meat in a pita, souvlaki is made up of larger chunks of grilled meat on a skewer, served with warm pita bread, salad, and fried on the side. Yeeros have truly perfected the art of the souvlaki, with large, juicy chunks of meat, fresh salad, home-baked pita bread, and fluffy, crunchy chips on offer.

This Greek restaurant is known for their speed, quality, and flavoursome food with no fuss. Their portion sizes are also more than generous! We love the spanakopitakia (traditional spinach and cheese pies) with the lemon dill sauce for starters, followed by a chicken pita pot. The perfect meal when you’re ravenous!

Parea

Best for: Wonderfully authentic and delicious Greek food in a quick and no-fuss setting.

Despite having only set up shop in 2021, the Greek street food restaurant Parea have already made somewhat of a name for themselves. Known for their delectable souvlaki and gyros, the restaurant focuses on producing fine, fresh Greek food in a friendly, laid back atmosphere.

The tasty and filling souvlaki and gyros are available with either chicken or pork, and are filled with salad, sauces, and oregano fries. As well as these traditional Greek options, burgers, pita club sandwiches, and Greek salads are also available.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Greek establishment if baklava wasn’t served – Parea’s version of the classic doesn’t disappoint, and is a sticky, sweet delight with layers of filo pastry, walnuts, and honey. Kataifi, a dessert similar to baklava but with shredded filo pastry instead of layers, rounds out the dessert menu.
